What is the wet cat food healthy market these days? Hello, I'll be switching my cat dry food for cats to wet. My vet says a moist diet is richer in protein and is healthier for my baby inside. I never fed wet food before and I'm wondreing which brands are among the top ten in terms of quality and protein content. Any thoughts and suggestons would be great! Thank you!
Merrick is great, man has quality ingredients, no grain. You may have to try a few brands / flavors to see what your cat likes best. My cats do not like canned, but I feed him his daily anyway. Merrick is the only my cat eats. Be sure to gradually move its food in a week or two to avoid stomach upset. RSS 2.1 old food, half new food, gradually reducing the old food and increasing portions of new foods per day.
What to look for: No by-products, meat such as chicken named in the first ingredient, high protein, low grain.
Other major brands are:
Merrick, Natura Innova EVO, Wellness, Felidae, Eagle Pack Holistic Select, Holistic Blend, Orijen, Petcurean Go! Nature Foundation Petcurean, Petcurean Summit, Natura California Natural, Natura Innova inherently Nutram, varieties of nature.
It's so cool! To begin, please your veterinarian Pat on the back for me. I learned that it is uncommon for veterans to know what they are talking about when it comes to cat food (some, not all!)
And good for you too!
Anyway, in my humble opinion, the best canned foods can be found in the What to feed link or two I will recommend.
What I like about this list is that it is being researched by someone else if I did not try to understand things. There are many good food there, but if you do the math (Understanding carbohydrates, calories, etc.), you do not know how these things to take your cat in.
There are tons of other good food there, but you can not necessarily their word about calories, and they never list the carbohydrate content. That's why I like it.
Both, I personally recommend the instincts of the nature of the variety (not Prairie) or by Nature Organics. I have not (yet) support either, but they are the two I decided to move to. I did a little research of my own, and both brands seem to be very good, very very low carb, no grain, etc.
I'm dealing with a sow that is not why I am so concerned about carbs and calories.
We use products of well-being - both dry and wet. You can not buy in the market. They are sold at "Gourmet", the pet store more [- and some natural food markets] only. They use "human quality" products and never have had any recalled items. I suggest you continue to provide dry food that your cat needs some stuff hard to keep its crisp cleaning teeth. Otherwise, you can brush your teeth (try it ha ha!) Or give him a special chew you can order from some veterans called "Virbac oral hygiene chews for cats" by the TRC Home dental care.
