Vacuum Storage Containers

From what I've read so far, the vacuum packaging extends the shelf life of foods. Is this type of storage for garlic? Why?

I have never aspired sealed garlic, but you can clean it and store it in olive oil for several months or both.

Most of garlic for a period of several months if stored in a cool dry place. I keep mine in the garden shed which lead into the house to eat or if it will freeze and it lasts for 9-10 months.

Check the website. They sell it like this, it must be OK for the average consumer to do their ego.
