Upholstery West London

Upholstery West LondonAt Home With ... Hauptman Joanna Hyde House

Hyde House was born ... when I could not find the furniture for my new home within my budget. I designed and put into service every song my partner and furniture maker, Richard Searle, of them. The reactions of our friends and family has been extremely positive and we have decided to launch Hyde House. We have created a collection that is elegant and luxurious, unique and custom, but truly affordable.

Before designing furniture ... I was a manager of fashion and the director of promotions. I have designed creative solutions for leading brands such as Harrods, Selfridges and Louis Vuitton. The side of the fashion tailor really influenced me. Like a fashionista hankers after Hermes Birkin bag, customers increasingly looking for unique and custom-made furniture UK.

The relationship between interior and fashion ... is symbiotic. Many bridges trends of Milan, Paris, New York and London ends directly influence and styles, such as metallic, animal prints, and monochrome. Even painted black, which has been huge this season in handbags and accessories, is evident in the use of black lacquer furniture finish.

I live in. .. North West London. I would describe my house as "luxury living - mostly monochrome with muted shades. The finishes and textures add a sense of revenge - think mirrors, marble rock face, metallic paint, and of course exotic skins! My goal was to create a home that takes your breath away is still comfortable enough to live and raise a family.

I covet ... Fornasetti designs. They are mostly monochrome and witty, with a very graphic.

I love using silver leaf and lacquer ... it creates a real elegance and an injection of glamor and sensuality.

The best way to inject color into a room ... is to use scatter cushions. Satin, velvet chairs high, buttons, stripes, black, cream and moles are very popular but bright cushions give vitality to a room.

It's about being smart ... with your furnishings. If you know it's going to make much use and choose something durable - a coffee table metallic leather will last longer and still look great.

One of my greatest inspirations is ... Dorothy Draper. His use of tapes has been brilliant.

The future of the domestic industry will be ... nothing is British. Buy furniture made in this country to avoid the environmental damage of transporting thousands of miles and supports British businesses.

interior trends of the year ... This will be the return to more classic pieces that are robust, luxurious and designed with longevity in mind - nobody wants to waste money in a climate like this. Luxury is an important trend as more people spend time in the home and in turn, wants to create a sanctuary.

The credit crunch has encouraged people to ... make informed decisions about purchasing furniture. Customers invest in solid pieces that last long.

Bespoke is great because ... you can see 40 or 50 ends before deciding which is right for you. Everyone has a different shape and size and the same thing with furniture - you may want a table for your room while someone else wants for its atrium.

We do every type of fabric you can imagine ... from false FURTO reptile skin. We have had unique demands - we were asked to make a headboard real lizard skin. It was a great product to stop!
