Wall Sealer slate tiles? I'm slate tiles on a wall. Do I need to put a sealer on the tile? Does it change the appearance?
You must use a sealer on the slate before grouting, it will help wash off the grout a little easier. Then apply another coat of sealer after the grout has cured. There are two types of sealer, it will not change the color, the other will enhance the color of the stone and mortar. If you want to improve the stone and not buy the two types of grout and apply the enhancer before grouting and after grouting other type. Test the sealer on a piece before committing to the wall.
put some polish on is to stop damp from getting into the tile, if there is not a problem I do not want wet bother.yes this will change the appearance.
