What can I use to replace plastic trash bags? I usually use plastic grocery bags as trash bags. Formerly, the way I justify the "reuse" part of "Reduce, Reuse and Recycle" they taught us in school. Now I know that plastic bags decompose never really, I do not use them anymore . What are my options for the operation (for lack of better word) my trash?
It is a difficult question to answer. Many modern landfills are designed in a way that severely restricts the flow of oxygen (anaerobic environment) and the decomposition of all materials, including paper, yard waste and food waste to Paper bags are not really better in this case. The best option I see is to not use bags at all, but to place waste in the trash. This works best when you're not putting a lot of wet items in the bin (or in the office or bathroom). Of course, it will clean up the trash more often.
Another option is to simply reduce the amount of bags you use by placing a bag in the trash and empty the trash, but not the bag until it is raw. You may also obtain these biodegradable bags and after you empty the trash in this way, take the bag and the compost??? Depends on how you want to be I think.
Unfortunately, common sense a person affected bags are no longer in our region (Midwest) by Walmart, replaced by Glad bags recycled instead (which are still what you want, but they are four times more expensive than good sense!). Report Abuse
Wal-Mart sells 60% recycled garbage bags, they are made by common sense and it is 20 bags which are 30 gallons $ 1.66
the more you recycle, the less you have to fill your trash bag.
More info on recycled bags: go to your local Wal-Mart or call to see if they carry the bags of trash UPC: 2990021173 if thats not the code there is a beginning of 0 and 6 small children to the end, they can understand you
That does not answer the question, but it's just another point to consider. Should you continue to use plastic bags for your trash, if you generate less waste in the first place, you will not go through as many bags. (Environmental issues can be addressed to prevent aka front end and rear sanitation aka but I found that many people forget about the option of prevention / reduction.)
The bags are required in most cities. And closed by tying and
bent or tie.
If you can find paper bags gabage you can use these.
Oh wait your trying to be enviro friendly., Using paper
kills forests, Thats why we went to plastic in the first place.
Of course, you should be over 40 to remember that
speck.
The best interim solution, recycle what you can, that way you use less plastic bags., You can get a canvas bag to the grocery washed in. In other words, if you only get a few days worth of food at a time .... .
I love it! I have done! They fit perfectly into the wastepaper baskets in different parts of my house! I used to tell people: I will be happy to take them if you want! Saved me a lot of $ by doing it this way! I still, if I continue to use exactly the same way! I'll check in more biodegradable Tho when I'm finished! Seriously, there are a lot of garbage that can be used in the compost pile if you have one or know someone who has one, I am a defender of all cities with! Then, you have a less trash, buy the way, coffee grounds, etc. go in empty coffee cans til dry, then I put in into compost!
im surprised i didn't find somebody else to talk about this unless I overlooked it but .... Use bags and no longer just the hose.
