PhthalatesPhthalates: The hidden poison

Have you read about phthalates? (Phthalates as Thal, rhymes with Hal.) Yikes! Talk about your basic poison! This stuff is murder!

Phthalate softener is a "added to plastics, cosmetics and anything they can lay their hands on.

It goes without saying that it strikes the endocrine system, thyroid, adrenals, etc-for a loop. The endocrine system, metabolism, can not keep company with poisons.

And like so many things, children being hit the worst.

It begins in the womb. Maybe mom uses a hairspray guaranteed to keep her hair in place without making it rigid. Phthalates.

And maybe mom is a nail varnish that resists crack further. Phthalates.

And then there is the fixer of phthalates in perfumes.

And so on.

But nobody blew the whistle to alert mothers to be that kind of thing goes right to the child and did things vile. And we are not talking about minor things. For example, phthalate affects negatively the development of male genitalia in the uterus.

People do not take the baby to a toxic environment (the womb) to another (home).

Did you know that the baby powder, baby shampoo and baby lotion all contain phthalates?

Besides soft teethers. bath toys and. In a ray of good news, some big toy companies, Mattel and Disney have agreed to phase out phthalates.

And now they find that the phthalate interferes with the enzyme aromatase, which is essential in the brain masculinizing men. No more John Wayne with phthalate closely.

Without forgetting that causes breast development for girls in our premature baby. The next thing we know they will sell bras and layers in the assemblies.

And they think that the phthalate is behind the huge increase in allergies and asthma in recent years.

The Environmental Protection Agency studies show that exposure to low doses of phthalate affects the developing fetus, among other things, but the FDA, politicized beyond recognition, issues of Nice just say that all reports very well, move along, nothing to see here. They ignore the study, then the lack of studies that prove their point. Huh? In what universe does it work?

So what can we do to protect us?

Get shampoos, lotions, etc. Jason and Kiss My Face. Both companies make excellent products, without all the poisons. I have no connection with these companies, I appreciate their products.

And do not use plastic bottles or containers with a recycling code (on the bottom, in the small triangle) one, three or seven years. Codes include one to three phthalate. Code 7 means "Other", then maybe he does and maybe not. How's that for clarity?

And, of course, attention to phthalates in any of the products I mentioned. Read labels. Buy yourself a magnifying glass if you have, but read labels carefully. Phthalates can be listed as DEHP, DINP, DBP, DEP, DIP. Personally, I suspect a group of letters ending with a P.

Finally, if you need a blood transfusion, ask them if they use tubes without phthalates. As if you do not have enough problems at this point. Dialysis, anyone?

And I did not say half of the same story. This is not a world worthy of a Pollyanna. At least Europe has banned the stuff.
