Should I replace CFL Philips Philips LED bulb? I rented an apartment with Philips 24W CFL. For the same light, I want to replace LED bulb, how many watts should I choose for the LED bulb?
This is not really like a straight forward questions as you think. Much depends not only lumens per watt, but the lighting application. A 24 watt CFL produces about the same amount of total lumens bulb 100W incandesent, and they are both largely non-directional (the light is emitted in almost all directions). An 8W LED bulb emits the same total as lumens incandesent 45W, but it is more directional, it acts as a incandesent 60W. Having said that, under the house the LED light a 10W should provide nearly the same lighting as your total 24W CFL, and last about four times longer (about 22 years for an LED and about 5 years to a CFL based on 6 hours burn time per day.)
I would wait until your CFL spoil before replacing them, unless you know someone who needs to replace incandescent with CFLs you.
