How do I remove the baking soda / cleaner smell? I used baking soda for carpet with pets, and baking soda terrible smell. I have drawn three times since, changing the bag, but the smell of baking soda is still there. The carpet is really no smell to begin with, but I thought baking soda would cool the house a bit. Instead, now I smell like I'm trying to cover something. ugh! Please help, we have a match in two days.
You need to get a steam cleaner and scrub the carpet with that and soap needed for cleaning. You can rent one if you do not have. This is the fastest way, the other option is all the time. Or get another brand without the baking soda in it, they have a brand that I use Glade at Walmart that smells good, but it can only mask the Oder short term.
Baking soda has no smell. The smell inself attached to the particles of sodium bicarbonate. Sounds like you have used too much of your vacuum cleaner is not effective. You get the baking soda shampoo the carpet BEFORE.
Febreze! works great! Good luck :-)
The smell may actually be in the air, and not the carpet. Try to open some windows for air exchange. And always open a window a few inches when you vacuum. When we go to the hotel, we tell them not to use these "tricks" in the room while we are there like that makes me very allergic. Try the exchange of air blow. It also helps to do when you run your air conditioner in your car. Friends 06
The best thing to do is clean the carpet. Using anything else will just add to the smell which makes it even worse!
You can not cover the smell, it should be removed. Clean the carpet.
