What is the best way to store coffee beans? Sometimes they come in a bag. Well, when I opened the bag, I usually wrap it tight and put a rubber band around it and simply set aside (dark, not that he will enter the bag ), but I think there was a bettter way ..
Could it be that the zip lock storage containers? those available, or glass jars, or something? Thank you for responding.
In the original bag or in batches, you use less than a week. Put it in one of those zip locks that you can remove the air with a small hand vacuum device, then store in freezer. Do not store in the refrigerator. The enemy is here especially moisture.
I think you want to keep as much air and light as possible, I use the freezer, although I read that it is not all good.
It is better to keep away from light and heat. I buy some books at a time and keep most of it in a freezer bag in my freezer. I continue to provide a few days in a ziplock bag in a dark closet, but then I'm not pulling the bag from the freezer too often.
Constantly slightly thaw and refreeze things can lead to the creation of excess moisture, which will worsen the taste and shelf life, but as long as coffee is frozen, it seems to retain its flavor for a couple of months. Once out of the freezer, flavor seems to last a couple of weeks, even in a ziplock bag. If coffee is not at least sealed in a ziplock he begins to lose flavor after a few days, especially if it is ground.
The best way to ensure fresh coffee is to buy whole beans and grind it yourself, and buy often, rather than storing a long time. The biggest coffee snob, I know you can buy the offer of one week at a time, but it is not practical for me, so I use the freezer.
ago in the freezer!
freeze
Get a box airtight good. In my house, we use a free service Zevro bought at Target, but not one designed for coffee, because it contains only ground. I do not like the freezer, it is bad for the oils in the beans. In my former life, before I moved out of the nearby Whole Foods, I drink Illy. It was sold in these wonderful little steel boxes. I still use my empty coffee storage that I buy from a local roaster.
I'm going to contradict almost everyone but the freezer is not a good place to store your coffee. As stated by others, the enemies of coffee are light, moisture, time and air. By putting your coffee in the freezer you expose to moisture. Really, one of the best things to do is either keep it in its original bag and put it in a ziplock bag, drawing as much air as possible (as one person said) and paste it into a closet or get a waterproof case (not clear one) and put your coffee in there. Really, though, try what you like and what you think keeps your coffee tasting fresh, do it!
hermetically sealed in a glass jar, then placed in the freezer. I had coffee stored this way for years and it was still good
