Led Wall Washer

Led Wall WasherDo I pay for the hole in the wall, which I didn't put there?

I have a problem with my landlord, she wants me to pay for something that isn't my fault. The washer and dryer connections were faulty when I moved in, and I didn't know. Thus, water has seeped through the wall for all my cooking, which led to a 3x3 surface hole cut in my wall behind my fridge. And now she wants me to pay for the guys who came to cut the hole in the wall, because I thought it was my fridge is leaking (all the water has been in the fridge). So you can see how I came to this conclusion. But I do not think I would have to pay, it was faulty connections that made the water leak is not my washing machine. Does anyone know where I am legally? Do I pay? Resources please, thank you.

anything - you do not hire the guy who has not been able to properly troubleshoot and make a hole in the wall. You said the symptoms - you're not a professional. They are cheap! Fight it!

I'm glad that helped! You are not responsible for the repair. Good luck Report Abuse

The connection was at fault is part of the building. The repairman was called by the owner. You have no control over or plumbing repair. If someone is responsible to pay for the hole, it would be the repairer who has been called by the owner. The repairman found where the leak came from even if it was not the refrigerator and I suppose the problem solved. He was called by the landlord and the landlord must pay for the repair.

Talk to your lawyer

Nah you do not have to pay small claims court must take care of your Moron owner real quick

If it is legally your home, it depends. You have some sort of evidence or a witness who can prove that you do not damage your wall.

You may have to pay at least half of the money, but you might not.

Good luck.

Talk to the guy who cut the hole in the floor. He should be able to say why he was needed and that was the cause. So maybe he could help your case with the owner.

As your landlord, it is likely to take care of everything she owns the property, it is his fault if things go wrong. What is a tenant is responsible to tell if you messed somethign that was not already messed up, or if you put a hole in the wall while you were drunk. Take advantage of this to small claims before it does, also, take pictures of your UPS washer dryer hook and make ur legit in your explination!

I think you have to pay for it if you called the man to cut the wall. You just called the owner to resolve the problem.

I would honestly say that you need to get a lawyer to know for sure. It could be considered as contributory negligence of your pieces at once because it is supposed to keep everything upright, and you're supposed to inspect everything before you move in.

Some lease containing clauses, do not forget to read yours.

In some cases, there is no damage in the unit, you should contact your landlord to fix it and they will determine if you are reliable to pay the damages.

Check with your town hall or hotel courthouse and see what the laws are in your state, then from there.

Legally, I do not think you need. It depends on the clause in the lease for repairs. If they are responsible for maintenance, they are responsible for those costs.

If the washer and dryer were there before you, then you will not have to pay for it. If you have installed the washer and dryer, it is much more complicated. She could easily say that you have damaged the pipes or fittings or the like when you have installed. If you can prove that the injury was having.
