Use a grout bag with mortar and consistency? I just used a product of veneer stone around my fireplace and now need to grout joints. Does anyone have any tips on how to use a grout bag and consistency of the mortar, I do not want to ruin the work done so far doing a poor job on the joints.

Consistency as mud pies as a kid. Quite thick, you can pick up a few drops of water, without fingers. Grout mixed with water quickly with very little water added, which is opposite the mortar that takes a lot of water to make it "muddy".
