Getting rid of the smell of skunk? my dog just got sprayed by a skunk. we were able to smell our dogs, but now our house feels a little bad. What is the best wawy to remove the smell of our house?
~ ~ Thank you
To remove the smell of skunk musk from home, close all windows and doors and turn off ventilation. Open all interior doors, closets, etc. boiling white vinegar for a couple of hours. Open windows and turn on ventilation. When the smell of vinegar dissipates, it should take the smell of skunk musk with it. White vinegar can be sprayed on full power and under the house as well.
It can be added to the wash cycle and rinse washable clothes, curtains and linens. White vinegar can also be added to carpet and upholstery shampooing and in water used to mop floors.
A large pot of boiling white vinegar can be set on a thick pad of newspapers in a "fragrant" sealed car and let cool completely. White vinegar can be used in water to wash cars and spray below as well.
Burning a match or two in each room, then break down as much as possible.
My dog got sprayed by a skunk in the summer, so we just leave it outside, living / garage until it does not feel more ... Only acouple days .. THEN we gave him a bath of hydrogen peroxide / baking soda .. What goes around ... Like your house, you can sprinkle baking soda on your carpet furniture surfaces / .. Let sit overnight and vacuum ... This will help .... Wash the dog bed or get a new one if it can be washed ...
You can also get a product called Febreze type odorban ... This will also help .... Good luck
