FriisJoost (watch free Internet TV)

So you want to know how to do without watching TV on the Internet ? Yes, it is a dream for many people, because they can finally drop the cable bill. Unfortunately, while most documents is there, it is still a geek world when it comes to watching television in this way. So what are your options? Well of course there is Hulu, which allows you to see performances pre-recorded, but believe it or not, there are many other options there too. For example, in 2007, Joost, a company of Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis, the two founders of Skype has decided to try out the TV business on the net.

They used a similar peer to peer sharing system as they had used for the manufacture of the enormous success of Skype and they tried to get people to download software which would then connect to the Internet via a owner.

The program was popular and elegant looking early, especially compared to it's main competitor, Hulu. The trouble is that people who wanted to do without watching TV on the Internet really did not have to load a new program on their computer. Instead, they just wanted to surf a site, look for something and start watching.

In 2008, realizing their mistake, Zennstrom and Friis decided to try to imitate Hulu, offering upload their documents to a flash based site. The trouble is that by that Hulu had already come to dominate the scene and there was no way for the duo to overcome that advantage.

Joost is still there and the dynamic duo who created still insist it can succeed, but the future does not seem to be doubtful. The grace of a record they have for their website that they offer content (even if very little of it) for people abroad (famous Hulu is available only to U.S. States, causing all sorts of people to seek creative ways to move their protections).

Ironically, although people from Joost had the idea of software that would make the experience of watching television on the Internet more graphical and less text-based, they have lowered their graphics software and switching entirely to a site Web-based experience while Hulu has recently begun to flirt with a new interface that would use a desktop program to allow watch free TV on the Internet.
