Dunbrody HouseGreat Motorhome Trip to Ireland

Ireland is a beautiful country rich in natural scenery and with lots to do and see. But many agree that Ireland is not motorized friendly, with its narrow streets, lack of campsites and limited access to many moles. It is therefore essential that you have planned your trip carefully to maximize your camping experience in Ireland .... and here's how.

Many begin their journey on the road to Rosslare in Ireland, the main point of access by ferry from the UK and continental Europe. Our itinerary takes you through the bottom of Ireland, through the counties of Wexford, Waterford, Cork and Kerry. Rosslare strand is about 5 miles from Rosslare Harbour and is a stopover possible if you arrive on a late ferry. However, it is better to take the road and travel to Wexford town, where Ferrycarraig Heritage Park is worth a visit. Follow the road to New Ross, where attractions include the John F Kennedy farm, Dunbrody Famine Ship and Ros Tapestry. The supermarket parking lots in Lidl and Aldi are a good place to park until all, or use the multiples paid parking on the wharf (where many have chosen to night). However, towards the south and spending the night in the campsites multiple Fethard-On-Sea is proposed. From here you can base a couple of days and visit the lighthouse of Hook, Tintern Abbey and the Kennedy Arboretum.

Great beaches include Duncannon, Dollar Bay and Bay Booley. In the picturesque town of Arthurstown crossing a river ferry you back outside the county of Wexford. Note Camping Crazy "in New Ross offers all campers and camping accessories and can provide maintenance camper .

The 5-minute crossing of the River Suir you need to County Waterford, where your choices of what roads you take to your campsite next door, Casey's Clonea, just outside Dungarvan. Option 1 takes you from East Passage through the resorts of Woodstown, Dunmore East, Tramore and Bonmahon. All these cities have good campsites with Tramore being the largest and most commercial. Option 2 takes you to your ferry departure directly to the city of Waterford - shows Jack Meades pub for a bite of bread. The Waterford Crystal Visitor Center and Tour Reginald are the most popular attractions here. Sticking to the main road takes you 40 minutes to Dungarvan.

Dungarvan continue to move east to Cork, where Fota Island Safari Park is a must visit. Stay south of Cork, the picturesque seaside village of Kinsale is an ideal - Garretstown House camping is strongly recommended. Driving through County Cork contains many gems, including Barley Cove Beach. But the next destination should be the amazing camping Ballylickey Eagle Point, West Cork. Situated on a peninsula reaching into the Atlantic, it appeals to all types of sea based activities.

final destination is the county of Kerry, a mecca for tourists coming to Ireland. Killarney is the hub and has many fine campsites. However, the rural towns of Glengarrif, Sneem Glenbeigh and are not to be missed. Enjoy your experience motorhome in Ireland.
