Why the cold air coming around the edges of carpets and baseboards? Its a new building and the cold air arrives at the edges of the carpet? Why? And how to solve this problem?
There is a space between the wall and floor of your floor, usually about 1 / 4 inches tall. On a wall facing outside, pull the round 1 / 4 molding at the floor and see the gap. Casting is expected to help stop air infiltration, but does not always do the job. To seal, remove quarter round molding, and use a silicone caulking to fill the gap between the floor and the wall. You can also use strips of cardboard instead of caulk. Replace the molding.
If you just buy the new house to tell them to fix it and watch it fall open mouth. It is a common problem with new homes today almost no dose business as it should. the only way is to spray foam on the plinth which means the chance to pull the carpet on the walls and throw away. good to have done. you can do yourself. I hope you know how rekick carpet
For the cold air to enter it must have warmer air to escape. If you have a home, it will need blocking another fireplace with a ball that will be around or under the door although it probably by the fireplace. If i light my fire it screams around my door
