Blue Led Lights

I just found blue LED lights that fit in my Mini Cooper side and look quite good, but after a few minutes of surfing the web, I've had mixed responses about whether they are legal or not. Some say that blue flashing lights are illegal are not static, however, while the rest speak the blue light is illegal. Could someone informed the police clarify this point?
