Can I use engine degreaser to clean a chain of bicycle? Astonish degreaser engine I've seen, this would work as well as specific chain degreaser that is 10 times more expensive?
Id take the chain of killing before applying paint so isn't a problem (not that theres much left on my bike anyway)
Thank you very much
I agree with Tom K yet I use diesel, not gas as diesel is not flammable or volatile.
A good good non-toxic degreaser called Releasall.Yet I support any degreaser that is non-toxic and smells good.
Gasoline and diesel both horrible smell and are toxic.
simple chemistry at work, my friend. Both products are mainly composed of the same thing: petroleum distillates. while the various parts of the split "will do different things, mostly in the range of dissolving grease / dirt like. good idea to start the first chain.
Here's my routine: Remove the string and place it in a can of gasoline, you guessed it, GAS! degreasing large, one of the best, actually). I then shake the shit (not intended Punhe) out of the box to the work of gas in every nook and cranny of the chain. I used a very light coat of lubricant relief chain brand White, who comes off very easily .... remember to change the gas every 3-4 times.
Up the chain, lubricant, and you will be shocked by the softness in the chain now operates @!
It will work, just put on a cloth and wipe the chain down.

Part of a chain that needs more cleaning is in the rollers.
Wipe with a damp gets off surface fat, period.
Soak the bottom. Rinse it with water if Astonish Cleaner is a water-based (I'm not familiar with this brand). If it is not water-based wipe. Allow sufficient drying time so that the coils completely dry.
Lubricate the chain with a chain lubricant. Finish Line Dry Teflon Lubricant is a large chain.
