Beach Wedding Menswear

I have a wedding on October 3 next to the beach. There will always be warm enough here in October. I want my bridesmaids to wear black, tea length dresses w / a hot pink base of some sort (or ribbon pink with dots). My fiance has vetoed any kind of Tux wearing black. He thought that white would look stupid. He wants a vest too.

What in the world do I get the groomsmen to wear to look decent with the bridesmaids? I really want to have polka dotted dresses black and white or hot pink dresses or something for the girls. I am clueless when it comes to menswear, please help! :) Thanks!

How about gray suits with pink and black striped ties which correspond to the pink dresses for girls.
