What kind of disinfectant products do I need to disinfect my home of scabies? This is my third treatment with permethrin cream for scabies. I spend a fortune on laundry. Just when I started better. Somewhere, I reinfected again. It is a question for those who have successfully self-treat scabies. What kind of cleaning products, disinfectants and pesticides that you use for your furniture, bed, carpets and car to kill these annoying pests. I live in Alberta, Canada. I need product that is easy to obtain and how to pharmacies, grocery stores, without having to order products online. Please give me the name of these products and where I can buy them. Please help!
of scabies involves eliminating the infestation of drugs. Several creams and lotions are available. Typically, you use the medication to your entire body from your neck and leave the medication for at least eight hours. Two drugs commonly prescribed are permethrin (Elimite, Acticin) and Crotamiton (Eurax). Although these drugs kill the mites quickly, you may find that the itching does not stop entirely for several weeks.
Doctors sometimes prescribe oral medications for people with altered immune systems or those who do not meet the prescription lotions and creams.
Because scabies spreads so easily, your doctor may recommend treatment for all family members and close contacts, even if they show no signs of scabies infestation.
To avoid re-infestation and to prevent the mites from spreading to others, take these steps:
* Wash all clothing and linens. Use hot soapy water to wash all clothing, towels and bedding you used at least two days before treatment. Dry with a high heat. Dry cleaning items you can not wash at home.
* Starving mites. Consider the points put you can not wash in a sealed plastic bag and leave it in a place off the beaten track, like in your garage for a couple of weeks. Mites die if they do not eat for a week.
It is possible that you have eczema cream because it may resemble scabies. But assuming it is scabies you can in the U.S. to get a prescription for ivermectin (and perhaps in Canda) that is used for difficult cases of scabies. It is a pill anti-parasitic. You can also use neem oil on your body that it is a method of contraception in India and studies have shown that it will abandon the process of reproduction. Diatomaceous earth can be sprinkled on carpets and it works against the tiny parasites. You can also get sprays with peremethrin pharmacy for around the house. Bleach on the floor is good too.
