I bought a container of one gallon of Zep Industrial Degreaser twelve dollars. You water it down making it incredibly cheap and it works better than anything I've ever used. My question is would it be too strong? The first time I used it I did not wear gloves (I realize how stupid that was). I lost a layer or two of skin and could not feel my fingers for a week. I tested it on an old chain and without oil, it rusted overnight. Until I get all lubed up it does not seem to damage, but I wonder if it could weaken the metal. Ideas?
